WORKSHOP ALERT: Ok Ka, Yaya Ko!

One of the hottest topics today among my n@w friends is about the Kasambahay Bill (Congress version, Senate version). This bill is for well-deserving kasambahays (household helps). Agree? I hope the Congress/Senate will weigh the pros and cons and consider also the side of the employers who are sometimes the victim of some stressful yayas (nanny) and helpers.Speaking of yayas, they're the ones taking care of the kids of parents who are both or either one of them are working. As working parents, ... [ Read More ]

Art Attack: Birthday Card Project

The NewlywedsAtWork (N@W) mommies spearheaded by Maqui planned a birthday card project for our kids. Mommies who were interested to join will be grouped according to their child's birth dates. The members of each group will prepare a birthday card for the other kids born on the same month. The birthday card/s may be store-bought or do-it-yourself (DIY). Mommies, with the help of the kids, can turn this into an art project. This idea was thought by Maqui since nowadays everything is almost ... [ Read More ]

Feels Like Home in Cafe Mary Grace SM Southmall

We found another kid-friendly place to hang-out with Kelsea and that's in Cafe Mary Grace in SM Southmall, Las Pinas City.It is one of the new restaurants in SM Southmall's food strip. We've been to Cafe Mary Grace's branch in Alabang Town Center (ATC) and it's very relaxing and cozy dining there because of its ambiance. But that branch in ATC is small. We thought the one in SM Southmall is small too. But to our amazement, it's not. Here are some pics I took:Entrance from the outside of the ... [ Read More ]

Thank You’s and Welcome home, Daddy!

Photo credit here Last Thursday afternoon, Dad was already given the appointment slip for discharge from the hospital after almost a week of confinement due to his stroke last week. It took me and my aunt almost 3 hrs to process his discharge in Medical City.Dad is already a Lifetime member in PhilHealth so what he needed to submit were only the photocopies of his membership ID and Member Data Record (MDR). But since my dad is still incapacitated to sign (his right side of the body is still ... [ Read More ]

A Wake Up Call

Every Friday, Kelsea and I go to my parents house after I fetch her in school. She was excited to play again with her cousin. When we arrived, mom was already waiting for us by the gate and said, "Dadalhin sa emergency ng Medical City si Daddy." (Dad will be brought to the emergency of Medical City)Rewind to Friday morning, my dad had only one or two hours of sleep then woke up very early and left the house a little past 5am. He was that early because of these reasons: his car was color-coding ... [ Read More ]

The Travel Packing Cubes and Tips on How to Pack for a Family Trip

Every time I travel, I want to pack light and as much as possible organized. So, in preparation for our Hong Kong trip a few weeks ago, I bought TRAVEL PACKING CUBES from Kitkat of Kalea's Food Confections who is a high school batch mate of mine. By the way, her cakes and cupcakes are yummy! Try them! I bought the 5-pc set since it is very affordable and with good quality. Photo credit: Kalea's Food Confections We stayed in HK for 4 days and 3 nights so one large luggage bag and one ... [ Read More ]
