If you have read my mompreneur story here, you’ll know that one of my suppliers was Lava Bags when I was still reselling. I first met the owner of this business when I joined a bazaar in BF Homes Paranaque a few years ago. I don’t know how it happens but there are times in a person’s life that you’ll meet someone unexpectedly and that someone becomes a friend and magaan kagaad ang loob mo sa kanya. That’s what I felt when I met Lala who was selling bags, pouches, cellphone cases, bag hangers and a lot more then.
Lala Legaspi-Garcia or “Lala“, a graduate of BA Major in Organizational Communication in De La Salle University, is not only a fashionista (as I see her) but also a certified entrepreneur even before when she was still in the corporate world. She established Lava Bags as her first brand. Her love for bags and dreams of designing her own led her to taking up a Bag Making course at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines. She already had her own bag creations in 2011 under the brand name Lala Garcia Manila.

Her love for fashion didn’t stop there. Inspired by her mother’s jewelry collection and fashion icons like our very own Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Lala launched a fashion jewelry line under the same brand.

From what I’ve seen from her creations, Lala will definitely go places. In 5 yrs time, she hopes to see her business grow to have it’s own physical showroom & a “full-blown” online retail store, shipping all around the world. Can’t wait for that! 🙂
