Haircut at Kid’s Hair Salon

October 6, 2012 By: Erlainecomment

I can still remember Kelsea’s first haircut in Kid’s Hair Salon in SM Southmall when she turned one year old a few years ago. She cried a lot causing her to vomit on the car where kids sit while having their hair cut. But after that first experience, the next ones went smoothly.

It’s time for her to have a haircut again showing much excitement in riding the car in the salon. It is advisable that hair should have a trim every 2-3 months to grow a healthy hair but we’re not following this since it’s very expensive. I’m a little afraid to cut her hair myself. But maybe with proper training from someone really knowledgeable, I also want to try someday.

Have you also heard the saying not to keep hair so very long because the nutrients that’s supposed to be for the body just goes to the hair? I wonder if that’s true.

Kiddie salon

The Kid’s Hair Salon is divided into two areas: the hair cutting area and the play area. Kids who will be having their hair cut can use the play area for 15 minutes for FREE while waiting for their turn.

When it was Kelsea’s turn, she happily sat on the car and concentrated watching Cars the Movie being played on the screen.

Nervous?

The two kiddie hair cut specialists were both male. I wonder why the salon hired two males instead of one female and one male.

Busy watching

I also learned from the receptionist that parents can buy a 1st Haircut Certificate where the hair of the kid will be put in a clear plastic and attached to the certificate with the child’s name. Their membership card also earns points and gives your child a discount or free haircut after a number of stamps.

After the haircut, Kelsea’s hair was blow dried giving her this look…

Fresh look

This particular style is a chin-length bob cut. It looks so neat. But since Kelsea has a natural wavy hair, some strands are flying away right now LOL. Need to shop for some more hair accessories for our cute little girl 🙂
