South Side Dining: Sicily

April 30, 2012 By: Erlainecomment

Sicily is a newly-opened restaurant in Festival Mall in Alabang. It is exactly located in between Yellow Cab and Cabalen at the Commerce Exit of the mall. We were curious when it was still closed. They had a teaser banner that said, “Something green is coming…” (something like that). So when it opened, we just had to try it.

Food is very affordable and for sharing. Their 12-in wide thin crust pizzas are good for 2 to 3 persons. We ordered the Pizza Reale. Toppings were only a few and were not placed presentably. The taste is okay but nothing spectacular. Rate: 7 out of 10

For pasta, we had Linguine Al Pesto since this is our favorite pasta. In the picture below, its color looks like an average pesto pasta but in person, it was so green (the unusual green!). It is good for 1 person only if you are a heavy eater. But you may not finish it because for us, it lacks taste. We think my pesto pasta is better than Sicily’s. Rate: 6 out of 10

I wanted to order Lemonade but it was unavailable so Kelsea and I had an iced tea instead while Mark ordered his usual Coke.

They also have ice cream, tiramisu and panna cotta for dessert. But we didn’t order anymore.

We were not that satisfied with what we ordered. Maybe next time we’ll try another variant of pizza and pasta.

Note: We came back there to celebrate my nephew’s 4th birthday because of its affordability and I wanted my family to judge for themselves the taste of this restaurant’s food. We all finished the food we ordered but just as what Mark and I said, it’s nothing spectacular. Their Carbonara and Bolognese are not that tasteful too.

Well, we all have different taste buds. Maybe you can recommend something you’ve tried and raved about in Sicily and we’ll order it the next time  🙂

P.S. The Old Spaghetti House (TOSH) and Don Henrico’s (both also in Festival Mall) are far better than Sicily.
