Prettify: Make-Up by Garla

April 8, 2013 By: Erlainecomment

I have a confession to make. I don’t know how to put on make-up. Well, make-up for the eyes exactly. I usually use BB cream with pressed powder, blush and lipgloss/lipstick. That’s it! I leave my eyes to the experts. That’s why I also enjoy being made-up during special occasions especially during my wedding or when attending events that requires me to put make-up on. Maybe I should take basic make-up lessons 🙂

That’s what Maria Garla F. Cabuco did. We’re both from Cavite but our difference is that make-up is her passion. Who is Garla?

Garla, my new online friend, attended a personality development seminar that includes a make-up class trained by Ms. Kris Bacani, a professional make-up artist. This made her realize that her passion can be a career. Garla’s dream of becoming a professional make-up artist stepped forward when she enrolled in Makeup Designory Manila where she took a Certificate Course in Beauty, Bridal, High Fashion and Media Make up.

From then on, she’s now slowly but surely making a name as a freelance make-up artist. Make-Up by Garla can be seen in several photo shoots, prenuptial sessions, beauty makeovers and special events like weddings.

Being a freelance make-up artist is a part-time job for her now. Hopefully, clients will start to notice her work and will eventually lead her to becoming a full-time professional make-up artist in five years or earlier.

Here are some words of wisdom from Garla:

“Do what you love, and love what you do. I actually don’t consider makeup as a business, but rather a passion. It’s something I would like to share with others, too. 🙂 “

Below are samples of her work (provided by Garla). You might want to hire her services someday 🙂

Eye make-up really do wonders, huh?. It could transform you from one look to another.

Do you love make-up and want to win an Elf 5-piece Smokey Eye Set? (I think I need this LOL!)
